Grizzly Marching Band – Rehearsals are BACK ON for 8/10-8/14

In case you didn’t see Mr. DeWitt’s email on Friday afternoon (Aug.7), rehearsals *will* continue on 8/10. Here’s a portion from that latest email (schedule details):

August 10

8:00 – 10:00 Woodwinds Only for Visual Block (No Instruments)

9:30 – 11:30 Color Guard (Bring equipment as per Mr. Carpenter’s instructions)

10:30 – 12:30 Brass Only for Visual Block (No Instruments)

1:30 – 3:30 Percussion Only for Visual Block (Bring a pair of marching snare sticks as we may do some playing depending on schedule)

August 11

Same schedule as August 10th, but we will play

All student leadership will have a meeting with Mrs. Monson from 12:30 – 1:30.

August 12th – 14th

Rehearsal will be held between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM. We will finalize the detailed times on Monday and send those out Monday evening.

August 17th – 21st

We will have rehearsals this week, but the times are TBA as we will have to coordinate with some of the other activities that will be held on campus that week. I will send out an update with those at the end of next week.

Grizzly Marching Band – Band Camp Update

Per the Tuesday evening email from Mr. DeWitt, here is the schedule for Wednesday Aug. 5th along with what you will need to bring. All rehearsals will be outside.

  1. Woodwinds 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
    1. Face masks & personal sanitizer
    2. Athletic clothes that allow you to do visual drills comfortably and safely.
    3. Instrument – when we play we will be spaced a minimum of 10 yards.
    4. Sun supplies (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
    5. Water – 1 gallon should suffice
  2. Brass 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
    1. Face masks & personal sanitizer
    2. Athletic clothes that allow you to do visual drills comfortably and safely.
    3. Instrument – when we play we will be spaced a minimum of 10 yards. If you have a bell cover bring that as well.
    4. Sun supplies (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
    5. Water – 1 gallon should suffice
  3. Percussion 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
    1. Face masks & personal sanitizer
    2. Athletic clothes that allow you to do visual drills comfortably and safely.
    3. Drum sticks – when we play we will be spaced 5 yards apart and will be sanitizing any shared surfaces.
    4. Sun supplies (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
    5. Water – 1 gallon should suffice
  4. Color Guard 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
    1. Sunglasses/Sunscreen/Hat/Backpack/etc. Per usual
    2. 1 Gallon of Water
    3. Flag
    4. Gloves (if they already own them)
    5. Towel for stretches
    6. High Energy!

If anything changes with our schedule due to items that our school board is currently discussing, Mr. DeWitt will send an update as soon as possible.

…When do I need to be there?

We have scheduled each section of the band for a 45-minute orientation. This will keep the groups smaller, allow us to meet everyone, explain what to expect, and answer your questions. If you arrive before your time, please just wait outside the band room until we invite you in.
